Sibal asks Scientists to work for people problems
New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) Union Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal today called upon the scientific community to work for solution to day-to-day problems of the people.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion of 66th Foundation Day of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research here, Mr Sibal said the Government was committed to provide world class environment for scientists to pursue their research. India, he said, was the third most attractive nation for Research and Development.
Advocating a system of free flow of information, the Minister referred to the recent launch of an open source platform by CSIR and praised the project 800 of the CSIR which aims at bringing solutions to 800 million people in the areas of agriculture, energy and health.
