SCR panel to probe fire on train

Vijaywada, Sep 26 (UNI) The South Central Railway (SCR) has constituted a four-member high-level Inquiry Committee here to inquire into the cause of fire in the Padmavati Express on September 24.

A three-tier AC coach was gutted completely and a two-tier coach partially burnt in the incident, which occurred between Ulavapadu and Tettu stations in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The passengers had a narrow escape as they disembarked on time.

The committee would hold the inquiry at the Divisional Railway Manager's Conference Hall here tommorow, a SCR release said this evening.
