Pending bills hampering healthcare scheme
Aizawl, Sep 26 (UNI) The Mizoram Healthcare Scheme is being hampered as a huge amount of claim cheques is pending from disbursement, the regional relationship manager of Reliance General Insurance Company Limited said.
In a letter to the CEO of Mizoram Health Care Society, a copy of which was forwarded to UNI here today, the manager stated that Rs 2,56,57,815 was due from the society's end since August 14, affecting a total of 3,739 beneficiaries.
The missive also informed that confusion was being created amongst the actual beneficiaries resulting in direct calls to the Reliance office. As a result, successful operation of the coveted scheme is being hampered.
It was also stated that the company has received only 25,000 family data for which ID cards had been prepared and delivered to the society.
The coveted health care scheme is meant for families where there is not a single government employee to cover their medical expenses upto Rs one lakh per year. It aims to cover about one lakh families.
It is operated with structural adjustment loans from the Asian Development Bank.
