NHRC seeks report on Kandhamal, Batla House incidents in a week

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sent a fact-finding team, headed by a Senior Superintendent of Police, to Kandhamal in Orissa to look into the alleged attacks on minorities there.

The Commission also issued a notice to the Orissa state Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to submit a report on the issue within two weeks.

Meanwhile, the NHRC also issued a notice to the Delhi Police Commissioner to submit a report on the September 19 encounter with Indian Mujahideen terrorists at Batla House in Jamia Nagar here.
