Manipal sospital in AP launches Stem cell therapy
Vijayawada, Sep 26 (UNI) Manipal Super Speciality Hospital here today launched Stem cell therapy in tie-up with Stempeutics Research.
Speaking to mediapersons, Stempeutics Research President B N Manohar said Stem cell research offered unprecedented opportunities for developing new medical therapies for deblitating diseases.
He said recent research suggested stem cells held the key to regenerative properties of diseased or injured human organs.
The global market for stem cell therapies was expected at 20 billion dollars by 2010. A few stem cell products had already been released in the US.
In India, the expected market for Stem cell therapy was 540 million dollars, he added.
Hospital AP Unit Regional Medical Director Prabhakara Rao said he was happy to note Stempeutics was committed to developing Andhra Pradesh as one of the Stem Cell Research and Therapy Hubs.
