Mahindra bags 'Platinum Pre-Certificate Rating'

{image-mahindra logo_26092008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Mumbai, Sep 26: Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited, the realty arm of Mahindra and Mahindra Group, on Friday, Sep 26 received India's first ''Platinum Pre-Certificate rating'' for Mahindra Splendour, under the Indian Green Building Council's (IGBC) Green Homes Rating System.

The certificate was presented at the Green Building Congress 2008 held here. Speaking on the occasion, Mahindra Lifespace Developers managing director and chief executive officer Pawan Malhotra said, '' We are delighted to know that our focus on customer care and ability to develop sustainable buildings has brought us this novel and prestigious award. Furthermore, it has brought up the social cause amidst the builder's community to put forward the proposal to the government to make it mandatory to only make green buildings henceforth.''

The different levels of green building certification like Silver, Gold and Platinum are awarded to recognize the level of achievement. Platinum rating is awarded to recognize the Global leadership.

The design concept, scope and technical specifications of Mahindra Splendour were developed to meet the rigorous parameters, laid down by the Green Homes Rating System for a Platinum-level building. Particular care was taken in the design for building orientation and landscape, emphasis on daylight, indoor air quality, energy conservation measures and alternative energy, selection of building materials, sewage treatment and recycling of water, rainwater harvesting and waste management practices, Mr Malhotra added.
