JK: 5 officials suspended in Ramban dist

Jammu, Sep 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Administration on Friday, Sep 26 suspended five officials for remaining absent from their duty in Ramban district, official sources said.

''On receiving complaints from the locals that five government employees have been absconding from their duties, the Deputy Commissioner yesterday directed the Tehsildar to verify the matter,'' the sources told.

However, during the inquiry, it was found that these employees have not been attending their duties seriously, sources said and asserted, ''DC Ramban, A D Shanas today ordered suspension of five public servants and registration of case against them in Banihal police station for detailed investigation,'' the sources said.

The suspended officials have been identified as Saleem Begh, CDPC Banihal, Dr Tanveer-ul-Islam, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Khari, Shabeena Jeelani, a teacher in Primary School, Hardbare Kaskote, Rubina Shaheen, Anganwari worker and Saleema Begam, helper in Anganwari Centre, Gujjar Basti.
