HP clears 18 industrial projects worth Rs 3,100 cr
Shimla, Sep 26 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government today accorded clearance to 18 new industrial projects having an investment plan of Rs 3,100 crore in the state.
The government gave the clearance during the 33rd meeting of the State-Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority held here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
The Chief Minister said that Solaryan Technoligies, which would he producing thin film silicon solar panel, had been given approval to invest Rs 2,400 crore in the state while Indorama Industries would invest Rs 400 crore.
Other prestigious industrial houses including Pidilite Industries, Meditech Garments, Advantage Organic Naturals Technologies and Crew BOS Products would also invest in the state.
The Chief Minister said that these industrial units would generate employment to 6,438 persons.
Prof Dhumal said that the state government would be considering authorisation to the Director of Industries to apply for permission to purchase the land under Section 118 on behalf of the approved industrial units so that all such investors were saved of their valuable time to start construction work of the proposed unit to start production on priority.
He said that the state government would be issuing notices to the non-serious investors which had been granted formal approval for setting up of the units but had not shown results on the ground, providing them one more opportunity, after which the allotment and approval would be cancelled and allotted to other serious investors.
He said that a labour officer would be posted in Baddi to motivate the youth to get technically skilled and find suitable job in the industrial sector where 70 per cent employment condition to local people had been made mandatory.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the need to advise the industrialists to incorporate housing plans in their proposals with a view to provide congenial working environment to its work force.
He said that the state government would be approaching the Centre with a proposal to construct labour hostels in the industrial areas to facilitate appropriate boarding and lodging facilities to the industrial workers.
