HP approves rationalisation of Timber Distribution Policy

Shimla, Sep 26 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today approved the rationalisation of the Timber Distribution (TD) Policy of the state under the provisions of the Indian Forest Act, 1927.

The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal also decided to recommend the case of premature release of life convicts Swaran Singh and Jodha Singh to the Governor for consideration.

It also sanctioned 60 posts of different categories for the High Court of Himachal Pradesh and accorded its approval for filling up of the post of Personal Assistant in the Department of Prisons.

The Cabinet approved amendment in the recruitment and promotion rules of the Additional Excise and Taxation Commissioner (class-1) gazetted and Additional Director (class-1) gazetted in the Audit and Accounts Department.
