Honda to launch Jazz by mid-2009

Tapukara, Alwar, Sep 26 (UNI) Premium carmaker Honda Siel Cars India Ltd (HSCIL) today said it will launch Honda Jazz in the Indian market by the middle of next year.

The car, which is globally the smallest model in Honda's portfolio, will be rolled out from the company's plant at Greater Noida.

''We have decided to prepone the launch of Jazz to middle of 2009...it will be rolled out from Greater Noida plant,'' HSCIL President and CEO Masahiro Takedagawa told reporters here.

Jazz is quite popular in South East Asia, Japan, China, Europe and the United States, and only few modifications will have to be made in the car to suit the Indian market, Mr Takedagawa said.

Earlier, Honda planned to roll out the car from its second plant at Rajasthan later in 2009.

The company yesterday launched the third generation Honda City in the national capital.
