Groundnutseed, oil flat; nigerseed recovers

Mumbai, Sep 26 (UNI) Prices of groundnutseed and its oil remained flat for the second consecutive day today on moderate demand, while nigerseed recovered on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said.

Javas 60/70 and javas 70/80 rose by Rs 100 and Rs 110 per quintal respectively, on speculative demand by stockists. Castorseed Bombay and Disa moved up by Rs 10 and Rs 15 per quintal respectively, on sustained demand by bulk conumsers.

Nigerseed surged by Rs 80 amid good demand by stockists, traders said.

In edible oils (per ten kg), sunflower exp ref and cottonseed (refined) shot up by Rs five and Rs 15 per ten kg respectively, on fresh demand.

Rapeseed exp and castor comm also hiked by Rs five and Rs two per ten kg respectively. However, Refinded Palm oil slightly decreased by Rs two per ten kg on sluggish demand by stockists.

De-oiled cakes remained unchanged today, traders added.
