Four militants shot dead in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 26 (UNI) Four suspected militants were shot dead by security personnel in two separate incidents last night, police said today.

Three militants were killed in an operation jointly launched by Imphal police and Assam Rifle at Phunal Maring in Imphal East, police said.

They were killed after a brief shoot out, SP Imphal East Th Radheshyam confirmed.

Two 9 mm revolvers, eight live cartridges and a hand grenade were also recovered from them, police added.

In another incident, a militant was shot dead at Awang Leikinthabi in Imphal West yesterday, police said.
