Evergreen hero Dev Anand celebrates 85th birthday
Mumbai, Sep 26 (UNI) Evergreen hero Dev Anand, who has been a part of the Hindi film industry for 62 years and has several noted films and prestigious awards to his credit, today celebrated his 85th birthday.
Dev Anand, born as Devdutt Pishorimal Anand at Gurdaspur in Punjab, has worked with a range of actresses and has the credit of introducing many new faces in the Bollywood, including Zeenat Aman (Hare Rama Hare Krishna) and Tina Munim (Des Pardesh).
Dev Anand was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to Indian Cinema and also conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Dev Anand continues to make films even today and despite failure of his last few films, he just keeps going with amazing energy and positive attitude. When asked during an earlier interview about the poor performance of his recent films, he said, ''I never give myself a chance to get depressed. I think ahead.'' UNI JM LY SV HT1655
