Bukhari accuses Centre of being biased to Muslims
New Delhi, Sept 26 : The Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari has accused the Central Government of being biased towards Muslims.
He was addressing a gathering of Muslims on the occasion of Jumatul wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan in the famous Jama Masjid in New Delhi today.
Bukhari alleged that the Muslims find themselves helpless because of the apathetic attitude of the government agencies.
"Today we find ourselves helpless in this country. Biased behavior of authorities, police, intelligence agencies, Central government and State Government has put the country on cross roads," said Bukhari.
He further said that the communal forces are obstructing the development of the Muslims in the country.
"Now when we stand for our rights in political, financial, educational and social fields, the communal forces with the help of the government are playing dirty tricks to trample upon our growth," he added.
Bukhari termed as stage managed the recent encounter at Jamia Nagar in the capital that led to killing of two and arrest of one alleged militant.
"The encounter that took place in Okhla, the way Delhi police, the Home Ministry and media did it I say it with full confidence that it was fake and was fabricated," commented Bukhari.
Police have arrested eight Muslim youth believed to be militants and are following leads to arrest others, still at large.
