Woman held for theft

Vijayawada, Sep 20 (UNI) City police today arrested a woman and recovered stolen propery worth Rs 13,50,000 from her.

Talking to newspersons here City Police Commissioner K V Rajendranath Reddy said Gorisi Siva was working as a servant maid in the house of a silver smith Narendra Jain. Some days ago Mr Jain had gone out with his family handing over the house keys to his neighbour. Meanwhile, theaccused came and took the keys from the neighbour and stole valuables including cash by opening the iron safe.

Mr Jain lodged a comlaint with police who investigated the case and arrested the accused after recovering 1120 gms of gold ornaments and silver plates weighing three kgs and cash Rs 21,000 from her.

Later, the Commissioner rewarded four police personnel with Rs 1000 each for investigating the case fast.
