Two govt officials suspended

Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, Sep 25 (UNI) Rajiv Gandhi Education Mission District project convenor Rakesh Pande has been removed and a clerk suspended, following financial irregularities, official sources said today.

In a surprise inspection, Collector Sanjay Garg found that the cheques and bank drafts, issued in the name of public participation committees under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Sarpanchs two months ago, for the construction of school buildings and additional rooms , were lying in the office, the sources said.

The construction work of the school could not be started due to the delay in issuance of cheques.

Taking a serious note of the negligence, the Collector ordered for disciplinary actions against the convenor and clerk Babbanrao Surase sources added.
