Tight security at Tirumala Temple
Hyderabad, Sep 25 (UNI) Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) D.K.Adikesavulu today said tight security arrangements have been made at Lord Venkaeswara temple in Tirupati to protect pilgrims, in the wake of threats to places of worship.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the TTD had enough security personnel to protect the temple and was taking all security measures in cordination with the local police.
Asked about any threat to the temple from terrorist organisations following a threat to major temples, particularly the Meenakshi Sundareswar temple in Madurai, Executive Officer of the TTD K.V.
Ramanachary said security was in tact at Tirumala. The officials were conducting periodical reviews on security.
He said the IG intelligence was monitoring the security arrangments in Tirumala. Scanners were installed in the temple premises and thorough checks would be conducted with the help of security personnel.
