Gear up for the assembly elections: Soz

Jammu, Sep 25: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress(I) Committee (JKPCC) President and Union Minister for Water Resources Prof Saifuddin Soz has asked the partymen to gear up for the coming Assembly elections in the state scheduled to be held in October- November.

''Work unitedly and defeat the designs of divisive forces in the State. The Congress has to play a major role here especially in the wake of threat posed by communal forces,'' Prof Soz said while convening a party meeting here yesterday.

''The parties exploiting people on the name of region are weakening the state and the nation,'' Prof Soz said and added that the Congress had to strengthen the bonds of secularism in the state.

The JKPCC president has, meanwhile, exhorted the workers besides senior Congress leaders to publicise policies and achievements of the party in all the three regions of the state.
