Patna, Sep 25: The railway administration has sounded an alert and beefed up security in Delhi-bound trains following inputs from security agencies about the possibility of movement of anti-national elements via Patna.
Railway sources on Thursday, Sep 25 said the railway security personnel and GRP, Patna, had been alerted and they had launched extensive drive under which all long route trains, either originating from Patna or passing through the junction, were being checked. Extra vigil was being maintained in Delhi-bound express and mail trains.
The sources said security had also been tightened at Patna junction where the RPF and RPSF personnel, along with women constables, had been deployed at the station for round the clock duty.
Security personnel had also been deployed at Rajendranagar terminal to keep close watch on the movements and activities of suspects.
The sources said a number of cameras had been installed at various points of Patna junction for round the clock surveillance.
The RPF was taking the assistance of specially trained canine squads in the security checks.
The sources informed that the Railways had also held a meeting with porters and taxi drivers for getting vital inputs from them.
Special vigil was being maintained at reservation and booking counters, the sources said.
