Prisoner escapes from Chhattisgarh Jail

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Sep 25 (UNI) A jail guard has been suspended for negligence of duty as a convict escaped from the Central Jail here, police said today.

Pandaria-resident Ashish alias Shatrughan, who was engaged in Gowshala duty at the jail premises, escaped yesterday. Ashish was convicted for theft.

Jail Superintendent S K Mishra suspended guard Shiv Pratap Tiwari for laxity in duty. A manhunt has been launched by the police to nab the escapee.
