PDP leader shot dead in Kashmir

Baramulla, Sep 25 (UNI) A senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in north Kashmir this afternoon, official sources said.

They said gunmen shot at and critically wounded zonal president of PDP Ghulam Mohammad Mir at Dangiwachi, Rafiabad, in this district at 1400 hrs.

He was immediately rushed to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

This was the first political killing in the Kashmir valley during the past two months, which witnessed massive protests, curfew and ''pro-freedom'' processions.
