Munde may contest from Beed

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde has indicated that the party may field Poonam Mahajan Rao, the daughter of former BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan from South Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency and he himself may opt to contest from Beed constituency.

Answering questions this afternoon, Mr Munde hinted that Mrs Rao may be the party's choice to take on Milind Deora, the son of Petroleum Minister Murli Deora.

The former Deputy Chief Minister said that he may be the BJP's choice against NCP MP Jaisingh Rao Gaekwad from Beed constituency in the state. Mr Gaekwad is a former BJP MP who held ministerial posts both in BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and BJP-Shiv Sena coalition in Maharashtra.
