MPHC cancels appointments
Jabalpur, Sep 25 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today cancelled roughly two-year-old contractual appointments of 300 teachers by this district's Shahpura janpad and ordered that fresh appointments be made in three months.
Justice Rajendra Menon handed down the ruling while hearing a plea by Ms Kanchan Upadhyay. The fresh appointments are to be made from candidates who applied in 2006 and persons who had crossed the age limit will also be considered.
Petitioner's Counsel Radhelal Gupta submitted that his client was not appointed while those who scored lower marks were selected. The government admitted irregularities in the appointments and related records were also missing. Certain officials had been suspended.
