LIC employees extend support to striking bank employees
Shimla, Sep 25 (UNI) The Employees of Life Insurance Corporation of India today extended their support to public sector bank (PSB) employees who are observing a two-day nation-wide strike on a call given by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) to protest merger, privatisation and foreign investment in PSBs.
North Zone Insurance Employees Association (NZIEA) Divisional Secretary, Devi Dass, while addressing the LIC employees at its Divisional Office here today said the insurance employees held lunch time demonstrations and rallies throughout the state.
He said the insurance employees decided to extend their support to bank employees in the state in response to a call given by the All India Insurance Employees Association.
Meanwhile, all the PSBS in the state for the second day remained deserted. Employees and officers of public sector banks did not attend work.
