Journo pens book on Nellie massacre
Lucknow, Sep 25 (UNI) ''25 years on...Nellie still haunts,'' a chronichled book on the infamous Nellie massacre in Assam in 1983 penned by senior journalist Hemendra Narain was released here today.
Former director of A N Sinha Institute of Social Science, Patna, Hiranmoy Dhar released the book here at the Lucknow Book Fair in the presence of several senior mediapersons.
Writer Narain had in his book described the political, social communal and regional aspect and the real truth behind the killing of 2,191 people in February 1983 at Nellie in central Assam.
Mr Narain, presently UP state correspondent with Sakaal Times, was with Indian Express when he covered and reported for the newspaper from Nellie.
