JKDF demands easy permit system, hassle free visa for POK
Srinagar, Sep 25 (UNI) Welcoming the decision by India and Pakistan to start cross- Line of Control (LoC) trade, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) today demanded easy permit and hassle-free visa regime for cross-border travel and trade.
In a statement here today the JKDF president Pandit Bushan Bazaz said the decision taken by Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to start the cross-LoC trade from October 21 was a welcome step.
He said this will go a long way in resolving the basic political problem between the two neighbours through dialogue and economic freedom.
However, he demanded an easy permit system and hassle-free visa regime to facilitate the free flow of trade and cross-LoC movement.
Mr Bazaz said he awaits a historic moment when borders become irrelevant in the event of negotiated settlement of the issue.
