Goa Govt to implement 6th Pay Commission from November
Panaji, Sep 25 (UNI) The Goa Cabinet today, in principle, decided to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission to employees from November.
Speaking to mediapersons after the Cabinet meeting here, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said ''Arrears for the months of September and October will be paid in cash after the budget.'' The additional burden on the state government will be about Rs 150 crore till March, he pointed out.
Mr Kamat said the Cabinet had also approved to increase the income limit of APL families, covered under the public distriubtion system (PDS), from Rs one lakh to Rs two lakh. It had also approved to fix the minimum land value for the stamp duty purposes.
The Cabinet had also approved to form a sub-committee under the Water Resources Minister Filip Neri Rodrigues to monitor the Madhai Water issue.
