Former Haryana DGP M S Malik gets bail
Ambala, Sep 25 (UNI) Former Haryana DGP M S Malik, facing charges of corruption in the GRP Constables Recruitment Case 2003, was granted bail by Special CBI Judge A K Verma here today.
Malik, along with other three Police officers SP Ravi Azad, and DSPs Arun Moudgil and Udai Shanker, is the accused in the case being handled by the CBI on orders from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The High Court had handed over the case while considering the writ petition filed by a candidate for the post of GRP constable. He moved the high court after he was rejected by the board of recruitment comprising the SP Azad and two DSPs.
During the trial of case, the three Police officials were found guilty of corrupt practices. They were found to be accused of accepting the illegal gratifications in selecting the undeserving candidates while the genuine ones were rejected. The rejected candidates, including Narinder Kumar, went to the High Court against the selection and appointment of candidates who didn't fulfil the requisite qualifications and requisites for the post.
