DRDO's Selvamurthy conferred with lifetime achievement award
New Delhi, Sept.25 : Dr W Selvamurthy, a senior official of the , DRDO, has been conferred with "WCCPGC-2008 Lifetime Achievement Award" in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of Preventive Cardiology in the World.
President Pratibha Devisingh Patil conferred the award on him at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on September 22, 2008.
Earlier, delivering the key note address to the "World Congress on Clinical, Preventive and Geriatric Cardiology-2008" that was inaugurated by former President A P J Abdul Kalam, at the Om Shanti Retreat in Gurgaon, Dr Selvamurthy spoke on the prevention and risk reduction in cardiovascular diseases.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy life style in not only preventing cardiac disorders but also in healing process. Dr Selvamurthy has passionately pursued systematic and scientific study of Yogic practices and has established their prophylactic and curative value.
