Convergys' volunteers help build new school building
Hyderabad, Sep 25 (UNI) Convergys Corporation, a global leader in relationship management, today unveiled a new school building in the city as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
In association with NGO Project 511, employees from Convergys Information Management facility in Hi-tech City had been supporting the educational needs of over 400 students of the Central Upper Primary School, located in nearby Lingampally, since 2004.
A group of Convergys volunteers, with the help of their peers, initiated efforts that made this basic comfort for children possible by donating the funds needed to paint learning materials on the school walls, purchase school supplies and provide floor mats on which students sit.
Once construction was complete, employees joined to paint the new building and classrooms and with the help of school authorities, set up a library.
The single storey building, with capacity to build additional floors in the future, can accommodate up to 400 students from the first to the fifth grade.
''Our Convergys team is committed to create meaningful change in the communities we serve through our philanthropic efforts, volunteerism, and community development activities,'' said Mr Paresh Shah, Vice-President and General Manager of Information Management for Convergys, in a press release here.
