Congress MP joins BJP in MP
Bhopal, Sep 25 (UNI) Sitting Congress MP from Madhya Pradesh Manik Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party here today.
Mr Singh, who represented Sidhi (ST), joined the BJP in the presence of senior party leaders L K Advani and Rajnath Singh at a state-level BJP workers convention here.
Sidhi is the home district of Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh.
In his brief address, Mr Singh, who was elected to the Lok Sabha in a by-election, said he was joining BJP as he was frustrated over the sidelining of tribal leaders in Congress, which was in grip of nepotism at all levels.
Rashtriya Samanata Dal's Gwalior division President Aibaran Singh Baghel and former Director General of Chhattisgarh Police Vasudev Dube, who hailed from Singrauli (MP), also joined the BJP.
Meanwhile, Dhyanendra Singh, BJP MLA and maternal uncle of late Congress leader Madhavrao Scindia, today announced that he was withdrawing from electoral politics and would devote for organisational work henceforth.
