Chhattisgarh govt hikes DA
Raipur, Sep 25 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government has ordered a hike in dearness allowance (DA) of labourers wef October 1 under the Minimum Wage Act, official sources said here today.
Besides 33 categories of employment notified under the Act, labourers involved in agriculture, incense stick-manufacturing and bidi-making would also be benefitted. A hike of Rs 88 per month was effected for the 33 categories. The monthly wage of an unskilled labourer would now be Rs 2,864, semi-skilled one Rs 2,972 and skilled labourer Rs 3,087.
Every agricultural labourer's DA was hiked by Rs 83 and that category would receive a monthly minimum wage of Rs 2,250.
Bidi-makers would receive Rs 42.65 per 1,000 bidis instead of the earlier Rs 40.89.
