Cauvery 'Teertodbhava' on Oct 17
Madikeri, Karnataka, Sep 25 (UNI) The holy Teertodbhava at Talacauvery, the birth place of River Cauvery, will take place this year on October 17 after 1400 hrs.
Deputy Commissioner K R Niranjan announced this in a meeting held here today.
A high-level meeting comprising officials, public and temple committee was called to discuss the arrangements to be made for the Teertodbhava in a safe and grand manner.
Mr Veerendra Hedge from Dharmasthala would grace the occasion and hand over ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh being donated by Mr Arun Cariappa, Chairman of Cauvery Group, based in Dubai.
Free food for thousands of pilgrims who are expected to visit Talacauvery would be supplied by Chettiars, Mandya Farmers Association, Kodava Samaj and Ekikarana Ranga, he said.
Superintendent of Police Suresh sought the cooperation of the committee in maintaining law and order.
He requested the PWD officials to erect barricades in places to provide separate entrance to the Holy Kundike.
