Action on Dalits' grievances within fortnight:Panel Chief

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh Sep 25 (UNI) The AP Legislature Panel on SC Welfare headed by Dr S Gangaram has assured the Dalits that their grievances would be redressed within a fortnight.

The committee had received as many as 60 representations from the SCs and their associations at the hearing held at the Collectorate here today.

He would ensure the administration replied within a fortnight.

He said the officials should inform the petitioners if their grievances were not redressed, the reasons for not solving their problems so as to raise the same in the Assembly for prompt action.

Dr Gangaram said most of the representations received were pertaining to rule of reservation ,backlog posts, assignment of lands and inaction on atrocities cases.
