20 promoted as Chief Engineers, Raina new adovcate general in J

Srinagar, Sep 25 (UNI) As many as 20 officers were promoted as Chief Engineers in Jammu and Kashmir, where D C Raina will be the new Advocate General and R V Raju, Vigilance Commissioner.

An official spokesman said here today that the State Administrative Council (SAC) in a meeting held here under the Chairmanship of Governor N N Vohra, approved the promotion of 20 officers as Chief Engineers.

He said the SAC approved the appointment of D C Raina as the Advocate General of the State in place of Altaf Ahmad Naik, whose resignation as Advocate General was accepted by the SAC.

The SAC also approved the posting of R V Raju, holding the rank of Director General of Police, as Vigilance Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir.

In another decision, the SAC also approved the promotion of Shamim Ahmad Lehrwal, Director, State Motor Garages to a common pool post and re-designation as Director General, State Motor Garages.

The SAC approved the placement of S S Anand, Mushtaq Ahmad Malik and A K Bhat, incharge Superintendent Engineer (Mech) as incharge Chief Engineers in their own pay and grade with charge allowance as admissible under rules.

Consequent to their promotions, Mushtaq Ahmad Malik has been posted as incharge Chief Engineer, Stores and Procurement Department, J and K and A K Bhat as incharge Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department, Jammu.
