2 govt officials suspended

Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, Sep 25 (UNI) The Rajiv Gandhi Education Mission district project convenor Rakesh Pande has been removed and a clerk Babbanrao Surase has been suspended following financial irregularities.

Official sources said today that Collector Sanjay Garg found in sudden inspection that the cheques and bank drafts, which were issued on the names of public participation committees under Sarva Sinksha Abhiyan and Sarpanchs two months ago, for the construction of school buildings and additional rooms for the school.

It was noticed that cheques found lying scattered in the office and due to the delay in issuing the cheques the construction work did not get a start.

Taking a serious note of the negligence, the Collector ordered for disciplinary actions against the officials, sources added.
