VHP backlashes Mulayam for demanding ban on Bajrang Dal

Lucknow, Sep 24 (UNI) Lashing out at Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for his demand to ban the Bajrang Dal, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today charged him with handing over the nation to the terrorists by following Muslim appeasement policy blindly.

''Mr Yadav is favouring the treasonable Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and demanding a ban upon the Bajrang Dal, which is a Rastriyawadi organisation,'' VHP media in charge Sharad Sharma said here.

The involvement of SP Azamgarh district vice-president's son behind the terrorist activities unviels the real face of Mr Yadav's party, he alleged.

The SP chief should first peep into his party and then worry about Bajrang Dal as the latter does not wanted any approval certificate from him, the VHP maintained.

It was only in the SP regime, the activities of the SIMI outfit were at its peak, Mr Sharma criticised, adding '' SIMI chief Shahid Badra was also given a clean chit and set free only by Mr Yadav earlier.'' Yesterday, Mr Yadav had sought an immediate ban on the Bajrang Dal and said ''if the charges against SIMI were proved correct then it would also be banned.'' He also held the Bajrang Dal responsible for the recent attacks on churches in Orissa, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
