UPSRTC bus hits jeep; 2 killed

Lucknow, Sep 24 (UNI) At least two passengers were run over and seven injured in a collision between an Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corportation (UPSRTC) bus and a jeep in Azamgarh district today.

The mishap occurred in Rani ki Sarai colony, where the bus dashed against the jeep. The bus was en route from Azamgarh to Varanasi.

Jeep passenger and another succumbed on the spot, while seven injured were admitted to a hospital for treatment, police said.

The bus driver fled the scene after the accident.

The bodies have been sent for autopsy.
