Title deeds recommended for 247 tribals

Rajnandgaon, CG, Sep 24 (UNI) The Forest Rights Committee has recommended granting of title deeds to 247 tribals in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh.

Nodal Officer S K Pawar said a total of 1,693 claims -- including 1,403 tribals and 290 traditional dweller claims -- have been approved through gram sabhas in this district. Of the 286 claims presented before the committee, recommendations had been made to provide title deeds to 247 people.

Meanwhile, claims pertaining to 29 traditional dwellers have been handed over to the Sub-Divisional Manager.
