Tata execs to meet Uttarakhand officials for Nano project tomorrow
Dehra Dun, Sep 24 (UNI) Senior Executives of Tata Motors will meet officials of the Uttarakhand Government tomorrow to consider plans to roll out the one lakh people's car project from the state's facility in Pantnagar.
''Senior officials of the Tata Motors will be coming to the state tomorrow to talk to government officials regarding the venue of the Nano project',' Principal Secretary (Industries) P C Sharma told UNI today.
Officials of the state government would leverage hard to convince the company to consider shifting facilities to Pantnagar, where the auto major is already manufacturing its Ace pickup trucks.
According to sources, Tata Motors has directed its ancillary suppliers in Singur to deliver parts at the Pantnagar facility in Uddhamsinghnagar by October 1.
In talks held earlier with executives of the company, Chief Minister B C Khanduri reiterated that his government was willing to negotiate on demands by the company for additional land.
Tata Motors is seeking 100 acres of land for housing purpose and has demanded that the lease rent for its 1,000 acres industrial plot at Pantnagar be lowered per sq meter from the existing rate, sources added.
