Security tightened in High Court
Kochi, Sep 24 (UNI) Security in Kerala High Court has been stepped up in the light of the general heightened alert in the country, official sources said today.
As per a decision taken at a meeting of Chief Justice H L Dattu, DGP Ramon Srivastava and Home Secretary K J Mathew yesterday, the number of police personnel deployed in the court complex has been doubled from 16 to 40.
It was also decided to install metal detectors at the four main entrances to the building, the sources added.
Stating that there was no specific inputs about any threat to the High Court, the sources said these measures were being taken as part of heightened alert, following the serial bomb blasts in various cities recently.
