Sam Lufti drugged Britney Spears, claims her mum

London, Sept 24 : Britney Spears' former manager drugged the singer with crushed up pills hidden in her food, the star's mother has claimed.

According to Britney's mum Lynne, Sam Lutfi allegedly planted the prescription pills in the pop princess' meals to knock her out during her mental breakdown.

The 53-year-old has spoken out for the first time about the situation that led her to take out a restraining order on Sam.

"He came into Britney's life at a very vulnerable time and I feel like he led her into some very destructive ways. We were afraid of him," the Daily Star quoted her, as telling Heat magazine.

Lynne has also spoken of her shock of seeing her daughter carried away on a stretcher and says shaving her hair off was Britney's way of saying "things are going to change".

Sam, 33, appeared in Britney's life last year and soon became a major part of her life.

The film producer acted as her spokesman organised her birthday party and was living at her Malibu home.
