Rs 34.80 lakh 'hawala' money seized, 3 held
Kannur, Sep 24 (UNI) Police today arrested three people, allegedly involved in 'hawala' transactions and seized Rs 34.80 lakh from them during raids conducted in buses coming from Bangalore.
Police said the arrested were identified as Abdul Haeed (42), Usman (45), both hailing from Valyappilly in Kozhikode district, and Mashood (28) of Irritty in Kannur district.
While Rs 7.5 lakh each was recovered from Abdul Hameed and Usman, the remaining amount was seized from Mashood, police added.
