Rathod demands 7 pc reservation for DNTs from OBC quota
Mumbai, Sep 24 (UNI) Expelled BJP MP Haribhau Rathod has said the Denotified Tribes (DNT) in the country, who constitute nearly 15 crore of the population, should be given seven per cent reservation out of the 27 per cent quota for Other Backward Class (OBC).
In a release issued here today, Mr Rathod denied that he had demanded a separate ten per cent quota for DNTs by breaking the 50 per cent ceiling on reservations and demanded seven per cent reservation for DNTs out of the 27 per cent reservation for OBCs.
Expressing satisfaction over union government's consideration of Renke commission recommendations, he hoped that within next few weeks the main recommendations of the commission, such as census of DNTs in 2011, housing scheme, residential schools, separate development finance corporation, and other schemes would be approved.
