PM to visit Indo-American Kashmir Forum rally at UN on Friday
New York, Sep 24 (UNI) The Indo-American Kashmir Forum (IAKF), a Boston-based advocacy group fighting for the rights of Kashmiri Hindus, will organise a rally outside the United Nations here on Friday afternoon.
According to a news release issued by the IAKF, the rally will highlight the conditions under which the Hindus in that border state were ''ethnically cleansed'' from their homeland by Islamic terrorists. It will also highlight the role of Pakistan in global terrorism.
The rally coincides with the address of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the 192-member UN General Assembly.
IAKF was formed in 1991, shortly after the Islamic insurgency began in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the release, more than 350,000 Pandits were displaced from their ancestral land and are now relocated in several parts of India and abroad.
