Pak PM constitutes new committee to review Islamabad security

Islamabad, Sept 24 : Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has constituted a committee to review security in Islamabad after Saturday's massive suicide attack in which around 60 people were killed.

The committee, which will also review the existing system of disaster management, will present its recommendations within three days.

Headed by Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik, the committee will include Minister for Law and Justice Farooq H Naik, Hamid Nawaz Khan, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Salman Farooqui, Interior Secretary Kamal Shah, Foreign Affairs Secretay Salman Bashir, Information Scretary Akram Shaheedi, Rawalpindi Corps Commander Mohsin Kamal, Inter-Services Intelligence Director General Nadeem Taj, Intelligence Bureau Director General Dr Shoaib Suddle, Federal Investigation Agency Director General Tariq Pervez, National Disaster Management Authority Chairman Farooq Ahmad Khan and Islamabad Police Inspector General Asghar Gardezi.

Earlier, Gilani was presented with the preliminary investigation report in connection with the Marriott Hotel blast.

"The government would provide all the necessary resources to the law enforcement agencies, enabling them to deal with acts of terrorism efficiently," said Gilani.
