JK: Vohra to hear public grievances
Srinagar, Sep 24: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra will hold public hearings on weekly basis to address the problems and grievances of people in the state. A official Spokesperson said Mr Vohra, who has been meeting individuals and deputations at the Raj Bhavan, had now decided to hold meetings at Civil Secretariat.
This would be for the first time after imposition of the Governor's rule in the state following the resignation of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad along with his cabinet colleagues.
He said the visits to the Raj Bhavan might not be always convenient for those who sought to meet him.
He accordingly decided that the hearings would be held in the Civil Secretariat from Wednesday, Oct 1.
The spokesperson said the Governor would hold public hearings on Oct 1, 15 and 22 between 1000 hours to 1230 hours.
The Governor has already been interacting with the people of far-flung and remote areas during his tours across the state.
On such tours, Mr Vohra invariably provided time to hear the grievances of the people, in addition to his other pre-fixed engagements, the spokesman said.
