Duration to file IT returns extended in J
Jammu, Sep 24 (UNI) The last date of obtaining tax audit report and filing of returns of income tax has been extended by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) by two months from September 30 to November 30 in case of assesses in Jammu and Kashmir.
The time period was extended by two months on consideration of the reports of dislocation of general life due to law and order problems in the State, an order issued by the CBDT said.
However, a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and Associated Chamber of Traders Federation has called on Chairman of CBDT N B Singh at national capital and explained him the hardships faced by the traders due to over two months long agitation and bandh in Jammu.
Earlier, the duration to file returns was extended from July 31 to September 30 in Jammu and Kashmir.
