LoC trade with India will begin by Oct 15: Vohra

Srinagar, Sep 24: With the final announcement for resumption of cross Line of Control (LoC) trade yet to be made by the Indian and Pakistan governments, the Jammu and Kashmir governor N N Vohra said the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawlakote routes would be ready by Wednesday, Oct 15.

Final touches were being given to the arrangements and creation of necessary infrastructure for Cross-LoC trade on both the routes, an official spokesman said.

While reviewing the measures at a high level meeting here last evening, Mr Vohra observed that the arrangements would be ready on Uri-Muzaffarabad route by October 15 and on Poonch-Rawalakote route by October end.

The Joint Working Group has short listed the items for trade between the two sides which will be finalised in consultation with the respective Governments.

Visits of Trade delegations from the two sides are expected to materialise shortly.
