Bank employees join nationwide strike in Arunachal
Itanagar, Sep 24 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh today joined the 48-hour nationwide bank strike along with the rest of the country.
The strike was called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) in protest against the Centre's plan for complete privatisation of the banking sector in phased manners.
More than one thousand employees of various public sector banks in the state participated in the agitation, disrupting banking services.
While the main entrance of most of the banks were seen opened but there were no transactions being carried out due to non-availability of manpower.
The customers had a tough day as ATM services too remained inactive.
The strike would continue till tomorrow evening.
